Are you an image maker or visual storyteller interested in bringing your photography and photo-related media to the book form? Or perhaps a bookmaker, educator, historian, curator, or collector looking to expand your knowledge of contemporary photobooks and handmade artists’ books?
In this four-day online symposium, Susan kae Grant and Mary Virginia Swanson will explore the many options available to artists when considering the book form, including small press, fine art press, self-published, and handmade artists’ books.
Eight distinguished international Special Guests will join us to share their collective knowledge of photobooks and the many layers of considerations involved in bringing a book to completion and on to its audience. Book artists, designers, publishers and collectors will share their studio practices, insights into production and marketing, and the role the visual book plays in educational initiatives and collecting strategies of libraries.
