Andrea Modica

Andrea Modica’s photographs are held in the permanent collections of major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the George Eastman House, and the Bibliothèque Nationale, among others.
Her work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, notably at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts.
A graduate of the Yale School of Art, Modica is a recipient of both a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fulbright Scholarship. Her acclaimed monographs include Treadwell, Minor League, Human Being, Barbara, Fountain, L’Amici del Cuore, As We Wait, January 1, Lentini, Reveal, 2020, Theatrum Equorum, and Catholic Girl.
She currently lives and works in Philadelphia, where she continues her photographic practice and teaches at Drexel University.
