Educational Series

In 2007, David Chickey co-founded Radius Books, a nonprofit publishing company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Since its founding, Radius has produced nearly 200 titles that inspire exploration and discovery—whether intellectually, visually, or aesthetically. The organization also hosts community events with artists, writers, and students around the world, and through its Donation Program, has gifted over 75,000 books to libraries, schools, and arts programs across all 50 U.S. states.
Radius Books’ mission is to encourage, promote, and publish books of lasting artistic and cultural value. The company’s titles have earned national and international recognition, receiving awards from AIGA and the American Association of Museums Publishing, as well as best book nominations from The New York Times, The New Yorker, TIME, PDN, Independent Publisher, and The Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation, among others.
In addition to his work at Radius, Chickey runs Chickey Design, his independent design studio specializing in art and photography book projects. He is the former board chair of the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe and is a graduate of Sussex University in England and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
