Christina Labey
Educational Series

Christina Labey is an artist, editor, and book designer whose interdisciplinary practice explores the human experience through color, literature, and natural phenomena. Her work merges research and photography, often taking shape as site-specific installations and artist books. She is the cofounder and creative director of Conveyor Studio, as well as the editor of Mercuria, an experimental magazine that examines the intersections of art and science.
Publishing plays a central role in Labey’s expanded artistic practice. She approaches bookmaking as a collaborative and holistic process that bridges her roles as artist, educator, and creative director. This philosophy extends into her teaching, lectures, and personal projects, emphasizing the dialogue between form, content, and process.
At Conveyor Studio, Labey leads the selection, editing, and creative direction of all commissioned and published projects under the imprint. She regards each book as a complete work of art, shaped through close collaboration among artists, writers, editors, designers, and the studio’s production team. Because Conveyor Studio prints and binds all its books in-house, Labey fosters a culture of experimentation and innovation at every stage—from conceptual development to final production.
