Jason Langer

Jason Langer is best known for his long-term photographic projects. His photographs often explore enigmatic and universal ideas influenced by his Jewish upbringing as well as Buddhist and Jungian concepts.
Langer has published four monographs: Secret City (Nazraeli Press, 2006), Possession (Nazraeli Press, 2014), Twenty Years (Radius Books, 2015), and Berlin (Kerber Verlag, 2022).
Supported by grants from The Ford Family Foundation, The Joy of Giving Something Foundation, The Oregon Arts Commission, and The Wood Institute, Langer’s photographs are included in the permanent collections of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, Zimmerli Art Museum, the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum, and in the private collections of Sir Elton John and Sir Mick Jagger. His work is represented or distributed by CLAMP (New York City), Galerie Esther Woerdehoff (Paris), and Gilman Contemporary (Sun Valley, Idaho).
Langer’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Vanity Fair, American Photographer, and many other publications. He continues to exhibit and publish regularly. Langer lives in Portland, Oregon.
