Bryan Schutmaat

Bryan Schutmaat is a photographer based in Austin, Texas, whose work has been widely exhibited and published both nationally and internationally. His photographs often explore themes of landscape, identity, and the American experience, particularly in rural and post-industrial settings.
Schutmaat has received numerous honors for his work, including a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, the Aperture Portfolio Prize, and an Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship. His prints are part of several major museum collections, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Pier 24 Photography, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
