Richard Klein

Richard Klein is a photographer, educator, mentor, artist, animator, and sound recordist. Trained in the fine arts in photography and sculpture, he is known as an empowering educator and expert in lighting, with an artist’s understanding of context and material.
As an educator, Klein has taught advanced digital techniques at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and presented lighting workshops at New York University (NYU), Texas Woman’s University (TWU), and the University of North Texas (UNT). He founded the Dallas Photo Workshops at The Cedars Union, an incubator for the arts. His online courses on Lynda.com include Architectural Photography: Exteriors, Architectural Photography: Interiors, and Insights on Architectural Photography.
In addition to inspiring others through teaching, Klein’s expertise lies in photographing tabletop products, architecture, interiors, food and beverage, as well as people in both paradise destinations and urban centers for high-end hospitality clients. He has worked internationally across the Pacific Rim—from Tokyo to New Zealand—as well as in Africa, the UK, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Having photographed on five of the seven continents and logged over five years offshore on assignment, Klein is recognized as a specialist in cinematic lighting and photographic technique.
