Bob Aufuldish

Bob Aufuldish is a partner in the San Francisco–area design firm Aufuldish & Warinner and a Professor at the California College of the Arts, where he has taught graphic design and typography since 1991. His professional practice in recent years has focused primarily on projects for cultural and artistic institutions.
Aufuldish has designed books and exhibition catalogs for numerous major organizations, including the Center for Creative Photography, Aperture Foundation, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the Denver Art Museum, SF Camerawork, and Pier 24 Photography. He has also created monographs for prominent photographers such as David Maisel, Todd Hido, Richard Misrach, Debra Bloomfield, Anthony Friedkin, Lindsay McCrum, Andy Freeberg, and John Priola.
His design work has been recognized in many leading competitions and publications, including AIGA’s 50 Books of the Year. His projects are part of the permanent collections of the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Poster House (New York), and the Letterform Archive (San Francisco).
In recognition of his contributions to design, Aufuldish was elected to the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) in 2011 and named a Fellow of AIGA San Francisco in 2019.
